Muhammad Mustafa Mero

Mohamed Moustafa Mero (Arabic محمد مصطفى ميرو, DMG Muhammad Mustafa, Miru, * 1941 in at- Tall, Rif Dimaschq, Syrian Republic) was Prime Minister of the Republic of Syria, who exercised his office on March 13, 2000 to September 10, 2003.

The Muslim received his university degree in Arabic literature and humanitarian sciences at the University of Damascus. He joined the Baath Party and its National Progressive Front, a was nominated and appointed to fight corruption and to initiate important economic reforms shortly after the death of longtime President Hafiz al -Assad prime minister. He was Prime Minister under President Bashar al -Assad, however, soon came back again. Under his government, the relationship with the neighboring country and longtime rival Turkey has been improved.
