Mulligatawny

Mulligatawny [ mʌlɨɡətɔ ː ni ] is an English soup an Indian recipe. The name comes from the Tamil words Mullaga or Milagu and Thanni and literally means " pepper water " ( மிளகு தண்ணீர் ).

The original basic version of the soup consisted of a broth of chicken or lamb, sauteed onions and curry powder. Today, this soup is usually called a bound that is heavily seasoned with curry powder and nutmeg. There are often strips of vegetables, nuts and rice, sometimes also added port wine.

The Indian model was no soup, but a sauce that was served with plain rice. In Indian cuisine, all dishes are applied simultaneously, so soups are unknown as a single transition.
