Multikino

The multiplex cinema S. A. is the second largest multiplex cinema operator in Poland. The company belongs to the Warsaw ITI Group and opened the first multiplex cinema in Poland in Poznan. Under the brand name " multiplex cinema " are today in Poland 21 cinemas operated with 186 rooms.

History

Under the company's multi cinema Sp z o.o. Founded in 1996, a joint venture between ITI Cinema and the British United Cinemas International ( UCI). In 1998, the first multiplex cinema in Poland was opened in poses of a multiplex cinema. The following year, a multiplex cinema opened its first multiplex in the Polish capital in Ursynów district. In 2004, ITI took over the shares of the UCI in the company and thus became the sole owner. In 2007, the opening of a multiplex cinemas in the newly built Warsaw shopping center Złote Tarasy followed. This theater was built in a unique design and is embedded in a world of experience, including bars and lounges. Also in 2007, the Dolby 3D Digital Cinema technology was introduced and transformed the legal form of the company into a stock corporation. In February 2008, the acquisition of the multiplex chain Silver Screen has been agreed with Apollo Real Estate Funds. The acquisition of the smaller chain multiplex cinema SA could consolidate its position as one of the two largest cinema operator in Poland ( next to the main competitors Cinema City). In addition to classic cinema business, the company also offers entertainment programs for sports lovers, music lovers and children. It also operates on the film Cafe chain " Cava Blanca ". In mid-2010 the first cinema was opened abroad - in Riga in Latvia. In October 2010, the opening of a multiplex cinema followed in Vilnius in Lithuania. The biggest multiplex cinema cinema complex is located in Zabrze, Poland.

Since the first multiplex cinema in Poland was opened under the brand " multiplex cinema ", the term " multiplex cinema " in Poland has partially established as a generic term for multiplex cinemas.
