Murgseen

The Murgseen are the three mountain lakes Murgsee Upper, Middle and lower Murgsee Murgsee south of Lake Walen in eastern Switzerland. The lakes are situated in the Murg Valley in the town of fourths, between the Hochmättli ( 2'252 m above sea level. M. ) and the Gufelstock ( 2'436 m above sea level. M. ). Your outflow is the Murgbach, which flows into the Lake Walen in Quartener district Murg. The Murgseen are surrounded by the Glarus Alps.

With the advent of tourism in the early 20th century, the Murgseen were discovered as a welcome fish suppliers for hotels and restaurants in the area, especially for the guests in Bad Ragaz.

At the top Murgsee the mountain restaurant is Murgsee ( 1'825 m), a privately managed mountain cabin with beds (dormitory). Around the lower Murgsee is the Alpine Pflanzenschuztgebiet with Arvenreservat.
