The Murphy Range is a mountainous country in Queensland, Australia. The Bergland is located about 420 kilometers west of Brisbane, about 44 kilometers from Taroom and removes about 76 miles from Theodore. The range rises to 404 meters above the sea level. Not far from the Murphy range is Lake Murphy.

The name goes back to the Prussian explorer Ludwig Leichhardt, who scored late in 1844 in this area. He chose the name of the fifteen year old John Murphy, a student in his first expedition in Australia between 1844 and 1845.
