Museumplein
The Museumplein (English: Museum Square ) is a square in Amsterdam.
The square is named after the museums that are located around the square: Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Diamond Museum in Amsterdam and the Rijksmuseum. The course was redesigned in 1999 by the landscape architect Sven -Ingvar Andersson. Below the square is an underground car park and a supermarket. In winter, the fountain of the square is transformed into a skating surface.
History
1883 took place the World's Fair on the Museumplein.
