Musiq Soulchild

Musiq Soulchild ( born September 16, 1977 in Philadelphia, actually Talib Johnson), from 2001 to 2007 only Musiq, is an American soul and R & B singer and representatives of the so-called Neo Soul. With a previously about four million albums sold in the U.S., he was one of the most famous artists of the record label Def Jam.

Soulchild was born as one of ten children of a Muslim family and grew up in Philadelphia. As a teenager, he made up a plan to become a professional musician. Under the title Aijuswanaseing he published in November 2000, his debut album, the equally well received by critics and audiences. For more than 1.8 million albums sold, he was awarded a platinum record. With the follow-up album Juslisen he could repeat this success and reached in May 2002, # 1 on the U.S. Billboard charts.

After his 2003's album Soul Star Soulchild took a three-year creative break. During this time he separated from his record label Def Jam and moved to Atlantic Records. In March 2007, under the title Luvanmusiq released his fourth album, with whom he came in at number 1 on the Billboard charts again. 2011 appeared Musiqinthemagiq.
