Mustafa Balel

Mustafa Balel ( born September 1, 1945 in Sivas, Turkey) is a Turkish writer.

After studying in Ankara on Gazi Education Institute until 1968 French, he received his Master degree at the University of Poitiers in France [ 1971-72 ]. He returned to Turkey and worked as a teacher at secondary schools in Ardahan ( 1968-70 ), Sivas ( 1972-75 ) and Istanbul, and Ataturk Training Institute ( 1978-80 ).

He was co-editor of the Larousse Encyclopedia (1986-1992) and Axis (1997-2001); next he published the literary magazine " Öykü " ( 1975-76, 8 issues).

He has published short stories, articles and translations in Yugoslav, Bulgarian, Russian, French, Brazilian and Iranian magazines.

His stories combine contemporary storytelling techniques with traditional virtuoso storytelling, which is characterized by a striking psychological analysis. In his works, he clearly suggests that even persist structures of a matriarchy in ostensibly exclusively patriarchal societies (ie Turkish ).

He won the narrator Price in the 12th Antalya Literary Festival with his story Can Eriği (Plum, 1975) and the price at the theater festival of the Turkish Opera and Ballet Foundation with his piece Gün Vurgunu (1984).
