Mustahil (also Moustahil or Mustahil; ሙስታሂል Amharic, Somali Mustaxiil ) is the main town of the same name in the Woreda Mustahil Gode zone in Somali region of Ethiopia. It lies on the River Shabelle near the border with Somalia.

2005 Mustahil had 7,774 inhabitants, according to the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia. In 1997, 5,207 residents of 99.5 % Somali. The most important communities are the Habar - Gedir - Hawiye.

Mustahil was repeatedly affected by flooding in the Shabelle, including 1997, 1999, 2003 and 2006.

1978 Mustahil remained even after the defeat of Somalia in Ogadenkrieg initially under control of Somali troops, as well as the nearby border town Ferfer, Geladin and Shilabo.

In March 2009, the separatist Ogaden National Liberation Front was that she had conquered Mustahil and also fighting for Kalafo and Warder, with more than 80 Ethiopian soldiers were killed. The Ethiopian government announced, however, the ONLF fighters were on the run.
