The Mutzenberg is 770 m above sea level. NN high mountains of the Thuringian Slate Mountains in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt, Thuringia ( Germany ).

It is located northeast of the town of light and southeast of Leibis - light in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park.

The Mutzenberg is built of schist from the deep Silurian. Index fossil is Phycodes circinatum, a Ichnofossil. The Phycodenschiefer of Mutzen mountain has a high iron content.
