The ConRo ship Tampa is the type of ship built by Hyundai Heavy Industries three-game series of the Norwegian shipping company Wilh. Wilhelmsen. The Tampa followed by sister ships Texas and Taiko.

Cargo facilities

The Tampa is designed for the transport of motor vehicles, on individual decks rolling project cargo and heavy cargo can be loaded beyond. Accommodation

Afghan shipwrecked in 2001

The Tampa was on 26 August 2001 at the journey from Australia Freemantle to Singapore when she received a message from the Australian search and rescue, that a ship had fallen in international waters between Indonesia and Australia's Christmas Island in distress. The Tampa found the vehicle, which turned out to be crowded 25-meter wooden boat with 433 people, mainly from Afghanistan. Captain Arne F. Rinnan took the people on board the Tampa. The Australian authorities refused the Norwegian ship then to enter its territorial waters.
