My Summer of Love is a British coming-of- age film from the year 2004.

Action

In northern England the young Mona lives with her brother in an old pub, the " Swan ". Mona is a typical girl from the English working class. My brother Phil is an ex -convict who has found after prison to faith, and a group of "born - again Christians " is a party. Set in the summer months learns the girl Tamsin from the rich upper class know. Although the two come from different worlds, they are immediately fascinated by each other and get closer. Synopsis

The real subject of the film is playing with identities. It is questioned as to when you can a person believe what statements are true, what is played? Tamsin seduces Mona, by pretending to be someone else and represents her life be different than it really is. Mona, by the relationship with Tamsin escape her dull and dreary life, but also Tamsin enjoys to lead to another, exciting life that she could not perform without Mona. A life away from his own broken family. A life inspired by Mona's simple, direct and honest article Phil, Mona's brother has also not found to what he really is. He lives in his own world with God.

At the end of the movie the masks are falling and the real people behind the show pretenses. Phil falls back into his old patterns of behavior and gives his religion. Tamsins of lies collapses and Mona remains deeply hurt back. The summer is over - the future remains open.

  • In Mona's first visit to this Tamsin " The Swan" by Saint Saens plays on her cello (Emily Blunt plays the piece itself )
