Home Sweet Home ( Alternative title in the GDR village, my village ) is a melancholy comedy from director Jiri Menzel, shot in 1985 in Czechoslovakia. He was nominated for foreign film Oscar.

Action

The small, thick Pávek and the long, thin Otik are an unlikely pair, the " end of the world " to work in a small Czech village. Because Otik is mentally handicapped something, its colleague Pávek and the villagers worry about it. When Otik decides after a dispute with Pávek to draw alone in the big city Prague, all is aware of what they are losing with his departure. Any endeavor that Otik stays in his village, in his sweet home.
