Mylia taylorii

Mylia is a moss genus of order Jungermanniales. You alone forms the family Myliaceae.

Features

The plants have roundish to elongated edge leaves. The lower leaves are lanceolate. They are oval-shaped propagules. The lamina cells of the flank leaves have thickened in the corners. The oil bodies in the cells are large and consist of small oil droplets together.

System

Mylia is the only genus of the family Myliaceae and is placed in the order Jungermanniales. In Europe it is represented by two species which occur in Germany:

  • Mylia anomala
  • Mylia taylorii
