Minski Sawod Koljosnych Tjagatschei (Russian Минский завод колёсных тягачей; short MZKT; belarusian Мінскі завод колавых цягачоў, Minski to German Minsk factory for Wheeled zavod kolawych zjahatschou ) is a Belarusian vehicle manufacturer with headquarters in Minsk. The company specializes in the production of heavy trucks

History

Although the company was founded in 1991, the roots of the operation reach far back into the history of the Soviet Union. MZKT went in 1991 from the also Belarusian MAZ vehicle manufacturers, who entertained a special division that manufactured exclusively heavy trucks for military use. The best-known products include tractors MAZ - 535 MAZ -537 and MAZ -543, which were either mobile missile launch vehicles or heavy-duty transporters for tanks and missiles. With this experience, the company MZKT newly founded began to build in 1991 with a program of off-road specialty vehicles, crane vehicles, military vehicles, oil field vehicles and heavy-duty tractors. The products are marketed under the brand name Bench (Russian Волат ). Although the demand for these vehicles is relatively large in the successor states of the former Soviet Union, only about 100 trucks are produced annually. MZKT works with companies such as Daimler -Benz, Deutz, Detroit Diesel, ZF Friedrichshafen and ITAG, vehicle components, such as supply gearboxes and motors.
