Nacionalista Party

The Nacionalista Party ( phil / span: .. Partido Nacionalista ) is the oldest political party in the Philippines. It was founded on April 29, 1907. Already in the first elections of 30 July 1907, the party was able to win 31 seats in the Philippine Assembly. She dominated the Philippine politics, especially in the years from 1907 to 1935 before the independence of the Philippines and also in the post-war period between 1946 and 1972. Significant members of the party were the presidents Manuel Quezon, Manuel Roxas and Ferdinand Marcos, who from 1965 to 1986 reigned. The candidate for the Philippine presidential elections 2010 Manuel Villar, Jr. is a member of the party.
