Nadja Hirsch

Nadia Yvonne Hirsch ( born July 13, 1978 in Munich) is a German politician (FDP). She was 2002-2009 Councillor of the City of Munich, since 2008 deputy leader of the FDP fraction Munich City Council and was elected Member of the European Parliament in 2009.

Education and work

Nadja Hirsch in 1998 reached her high school diploma at the Edith-Stein -Gymnasium in Munich. After studying psychology at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University in Munich, from 1998 to 2005, she started her PhD on " Munich Metropolitan Region - Regional Governance ". In addition, she studied from 1999 to 2002 Economics at the University of Hagen. In addition, they could be at the Munich Ludwig -Maximilians University as business mediator trained in cooperation with the law firm Beiten Burkhart (2003 - 2004). Since then she has freelanced for companies and non-profit organizations.

MEP

Hirsch is a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. She is Deputy Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.

Since September 2013 Hirsch is a member of the Delegation for relations between the EU and the USA. As a deputy she is in the Committee on Culture and Education, in the Delegation for relations with the Arab Peninsula and the Delegation for relations with the countries of South Asia.

Party

Nadja Hirsch occurred in 1999, the FDP Bavaria and the Young Liberals. She was from 1999 to 2001 Deputy Chairman of the Young Liberals Stadtverband Munich, had then from 2001 to 2003 held the office of city chairman and in 2002 was the top candidate for the city council election in Munich. She is also deputy chairman since 2006, responsible for programmatic, the FDP District Association of Upper Bavaria. 2008 Nadja Hirsch was elected at the state party of the FDP to its top candidate for the European elections in 2009 and thus entered at number 9 of the Federal list for the European elections. In the European Parliament she is a member of the ALDE Group, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.

Dahrendorf Circle

Nadja Hirsch is co-founder of the so-called Dahrendorf circle. This coalition of the elected representatives of the European Parliament ( Nadja Hirsch, Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, Alexander Alvaro, Gesine Meissner ) and the Bundestag ( Miriam greeting and Sebastian Körber ) and Christoph Giesa was formed in December 2010. In the tradition of thinking of Ralf Dahrendorf, the Group is engaged with the question of what life has to offer chances of a just society and how at the same time preserving the freedom. The aim is, the FDP prepare wider.
