Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Group
The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe ( ALDE) since the 2004 European elections, a political group in the European Parliament. There are also in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council, the Committee of the Regions and to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO fractions that name.
The ALDE Group in the European Parliament is made up of members of the liberal ALDE party, formerly the European Liberal Democratic and Reform Party ( ELDR) to which the German FDP and the liberal parties belong at European level, and the European Democratic Party ( EDP), an association of European center parties. Overall, the ALDE Group has 85 members and is thus the third- largest group, about 11 per cent of Members of Parliament (November 2012). The German national group was initially led by Silvana Koch -Mehrin, since their withdrawal in May 2011 by Alexander Graf Lambsdorff. The Austrian MEP Angelika Werthmann joined in July 2012 of the ALDE. Chairman of the ALDE Group is the Belgian Guy Verhofstadt.
In the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where there is no separate green fraction, even some members of the European Green Party ( EGP) are part of the ALDE Group.

Jozo Rados (Hrvatska narodna stranka - Liberalni democratic, HNS) from the EU candidate countries, Croatia was joined as an observer in the European Parliament of the group. In the European elections in Croatia in 2013, the HNS could not win a seat.
In the 2004-2009 term, the Austrian Karin Resetarits belonged to the faction. She was after disagreements with Hans -Peter Martin, on whose list they had a candidate in the European elections in 2004, switched to the Liberals in 2005 and represented up to the elections to the European Parliament in 2009 the Liberal Forum in the European Parliament.
