Sylvie Goulard

Sylvie Goulard (December 6, 1964 in Marseille) is a political scientist. She works at the Centre d' Etudes et de Recherches Internationales ( CERI ) and teaches at the College of Europe in Bruges. She is a graduate of the elite Institut d' études politiques colleges de Paris and École nationale d'administration (ENA ), the former advisor to Romano Prodi of the European Commission, member of the French party Mouvement démocrate and since June 2009 Member of the European Parliament in the fraction ALDE. From 2006 to 2010 Goulard was President of the European Movement -France.

In EU Parliament Goulard is a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Delegation for relations with Japan since 2009. As a deputy she is in the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development.

Life

Sylvie Goulard has began their careers with the legal department of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989 and has participated in the negotiation of the Two Plus Four Treaty in the French team. Between 1993 and 1996, she then worked for the Conseil d' État (France).

Between 1996 and 1999 she performed various projects at the Centre d'analyze et de prevention (CAP, planning staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ) and worked closely with the German planning staff together ( Foreign Office). From 2001 to 2004 she was a political advisor to Romano Prodi and pursued inter alia, the work of the Convention ( a Constitution for Europe).

In their activities Sylvie Goulard emphasizes the need for greater European integration, but at the same time an increased public discussion on the challenges of Europe. The European Union is much more in the future include the Europeans and prepare them better, where they are better informed and even to be active. To this end, the European Union should promote exchange programs and foreign language teaching better.

The end of 2006, she was elected to President of the European Movement France. Mouvement Européen -France is an association that promotes in France for a greater European integration. The club organizes lectures, debates and meetings between citizens and notables from all over Europe ( politicians, scientists). In September 2010, Goulard was involved in the founding of the Spinelli Group, which works in the European Parliament for the European federalism.
