Nagai Naoyuki

Nagai Naoyuki (Japanese永 井 尚志; * 1816, † 1896) was the head of the company founded in 1855 Navy training center Nagasaki. In 1857, he went on board the Kanko Maru, Japan's first steam ship and training vessel of the center, along with 103 of his students to Tokyo.

In 1868 he took part on the side of the Loyalists at Boshin War and drove together with Enomoto Takeaki on the warship Kaiten. He surrendered with the rest of the troops of the Republic of Ezo on 15 May 1869.

After a period of 3 years that he spent in custody may, he got re- post in the Imperial administration.
