Nakhon Ratchasima F.C.

The Nakhon Ratchasima FC is a football club based in Nakhon Ratchasima in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan. The club plays in the Regional League Division 2, the third- highest division in Thailand. The club is also known as Korat FC. Korat is a different and common name for the city of Nakhon Ratchasima.

Club history

The club was founded in 1999. He took from then on at the Thailand Provincial League. One league parallel to the Thai Premier League. By 2006, the club played in the Pro League, but found mostly in the lower third of the table again. For the 2007 season the club moved to the second highest league in Thailand, the Thailand Division 1 League. Finishing ninth in the table, but the team was relegated to the third division. There they at once found in a relegation battle again, but could turn the tide. Five wins in a row helped just to escape at the end of the descent. In the 2009 season, the club has the chance to celebrate a rise in their history for the first time. Korat plays until the end of the season to move up with. The team also managed it to the quarterfinals of the Thai Association Cup.

Stadium

Nakhon Ratchasima plays its home matches at the stadium of December 5. The stadium was the main venue of the Southeast Asia Games 2007. Since the middle of the 2008 season, the stadium is used by the club as a home ground. Before that was played in the central stadium of the city.
