Nanjing Road
The Nanjing Lu (南京 路Chinese, Pinyin Nanjing, english Nanjing Road) in Shanghai is one of the biggest shopping streets in the world.
Location
The Nanjing Road is located in the city center, and runs in an east - west direction.
- The eastern part (南京 东路, Nanjing Dong Lu ) is located in the Huangpu District and extends from the shoulder to the People's Square (人民 广场, Rénmín Guǎngchǎng ). In the eastern part there is a pedestrian area with shops, restaurants and cafes that attract by their lush neon signs many tourists and local visitors.
- The western section (南京 西路, Nanjing Xi Lu ) begins at People's Square and goes west further into the city Jing'an District (静安). The western part is known for its luxury shopping centers.
