Nardia
Nardia scalaris
Nardia is a moss genus of order Jungermanniales. It is named after the Italian and Abbot Stanislaus Nardi, one of the sponsors for Genera Plantarum Michelis.
Features
The plants bear round edge leaves. The lamina cells of the flank leaves have triangular thickenings in the corners. Occur two to three large oil bodies per cell. The lower leaves are lanceolate to pike -shaped. The foot of the Sporogons is sunk in a protuberance of Stämmchengewebes, called Perygynium.
System
Nardia is a genus of Jungermanniaceae family. Worldwide there are about 17 species, five of which occur in Europe:
- Nardia breidleri
- Nardia compressa
- Nardia geoscyphus
- Nardia insecta
- Nardia scalaris
