Nariman Narimanov

Nəriman Kərbəlayi Nəcəf oglu Nərimanov (Russian Нариман Нариманов / Nariman Narimanow; born April 14, 1870 in Tbilisi, † March 19, 1925 in Moscow) was the first Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. With its respectful inclination to Azerbaijani tradition and culture, he determined first by the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, the freedom to determine the Holidays by the Azerbaijani population. In addition to his political activities, he was also active as a writer. He supported the Turkish government with gold and capital assistance.

Political activities

In 1917 Nərimanov was appointed Chairman of the Social Democratic organization Hummät and editor of the daily Hümmät. A year later he was given the position of Minister of Economic Affairs of the city of Baku, which he did for health reasons could not perform and therefore traveled to Astrakhan for treatment. After his treatment, he remained there and took part in the programs of the various parties in Astrakhan. In 1919 Nəriman Nərimanov was summoned to Moscow and got a leading role for " foreign affairs in the East, in terms of the cooperation among the peoples ." After the decline of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan on April 28, 1920, the Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic was proclaimed. Nərimanov was from 1922, the Chairman of the Transitional Government and a member of the Soviet Central Committee.
