Naser Houshmand Vaziri

Naser Houshmand Vaziri (Persian ناصر هوشمند وزیری * 1946 in Hamadan, Iran) is an Iranian sculptor.

Life

Born in Hamadan, Naser Houshmand Vaziri moved at the age of five with his parents in Tehran. His artistic talent was already evident during the school year at the high school, where his teachers were aware of him and his first works of art exhibited. After high school located Naser Houshmand Vaziri wrote 1966 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University, where he studied sculpture. After graduating in 1971 he opened his own studio in the Fatemi Street, Tehran. In 2005 he moved to Lavāsān in the north -east of Tehran, at his life's dream - to transform his house and its surroundings in a workshop and an art museum - to realize. Includes a laid in the rock cave museum to this system.

Naser Houshmand Vaziri is the father of two daughters who are also in the field of sculpture and painting works.

Work and exhibitions

Naser Houshmand Vaziri worked mainly rock stone but also clay, wood, sand, glass, fiberglass, ceramic, resin antlers, metal and cement. This produces both classical, mythological figures from the Shahnameh as well as modern sculptures and statues. Vaziri also deals with environmental issues and taxidermy.

We are especially famous in his sculptures Dschamschidieh Park and in Ferdowsi Park ( Bāgh -e Ferdowsi ) in Tehran. The latter was awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Furthermore there are 25 of his sculptures in Zandschaner Ethnographic Museum, the former laundry of the city.

Other exhibitions were made in 2003 in Hanover and 2006 in Tehran.
