Nasonov pheromone

The Nasanov pheromone (alternatively: Nasonov pheromone ) is released by worker bees to lead the colony to returning gatherer bees back. In order to release the fragrance lifts the bee her abdomen and begins to fan out with their pairs of wings. The located in the abdomen Nasanov gland pheromone sets her free and is carried away by the wind generated by the wings.

The Nasonov pheromone contains a large number of different terpenes. The fragrance additions is used to mark the hive, and to display flowers that still contain nectar.

Humans use synthetically produced Nasanov pheromone to honey bee swarms to lure into unoccupied hives or fishing boxes.
