Natalia Sedova

Natalya Ivanovna Sedova (* April 17, 1882; † January 23, 1962 in Corbeil -Essonnes ) was a Russian revolutionary and the second wife of Leon Trotsky.

Life

Natalia Ivanovna was the daughter of Ivan Sedov and Olga Kolschewski. In 1903 she married Trotsky and followed him after the victory of Stalinism in the Soviet Union during banishment and exile. The common sons Leo (1906-1938) and Sergei (1908-1937) were murdered by Stalinists (regarding Leos, however, not known with absolute certainty ), as well as 1940 Trotsky himself in 1951 she left the Trotskyist Fourth International because of differences over the question of character of the Russian economy ( state capitalism theory ).
