National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Inc., often abbreviated as NARAS or simplistically The Recording Academy called, is a company incorporated in Los Angeles on May 28, 1957 private sector organization of the music industry, headquartered in Santa Monica, California ( since 1993). Especially outside the U.S. is the NARAS especially as that institution is known that the Grammy Award is one of the most internationally renowned music awards since 1959. Main concerns of NARAS is the raising of the living and working conditions. Within the music industry employees, ie mainly of musicians, sound engineers and producers, as well as the active promotion of particularly high quality of work in these fields of activity
