National and University Library of Slovenia

The National and University Library ( Slovenian: Narodna in univerzitetna knjižnica, NUK ) is the national library of Slovenia and the University Library of the University of Ljubljana. It is also the largest scientific library in the country.

The library building was designed by Plečnik instead of Auersperg Palace in the center of Ljubljana in the years 1930 to 1931 and built from 1936 to 1941.

The building was in 1992 honored with an image on the back of the valid until the introduction of the euro in 2007 500 Tolar certificate.
