National Assembly for Wales election, 2011

The elections to the National Assembly for Wales in 2011 were the fourth elections in 1999, the newly established National Assembly in Cardiff and took place on May 5, 2011. Were elected 60 deputies, 40 of them in constituencies by relative majority vote and 20 from party lists in five regions. First Minister Carwyn Jones and his Labour Party were able to strengthen their position and reached half the seats. Plaid Cymru under Ieuan Wyn Jones, however, suffered a crushing defeat at the polls. With Leanne Wood since there is a trade unionist and socialist declared at the top of the party.
