National Association of Schools of Music

The National Association of Schools of Music ( NASM ) is an association of universities, the function of the National Accreditation Council for music degree programs in the United States. NASM was founded on October 20, 1924, began in 1939 to issue accreditations.

The NASM currently includes approximately 644 Mitgliederund is responsible for both universities that confer academic titles, as well as non - academic music schools.

Besides serving as the NASM Accreditation acts as a consultant and instructor for music schools. The NASM also operates institutional research by compiling and analyzing statistics that deal with the operation of music schools and faculties.
