University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music

The College - Conservatory of Music (CCM ) is the Faculty of Music of the University of Cincinnati.

History

The Institute was founded in 1955 from the merger of Clara Baur 1867 " Cincinnati Conservatory of Music " and the " College of Music in Cincinnati ," created in 1878, out. On August 1, 1962, was incorporated into the University of Cincinnati, Ohio's second largest public university. By 2007, the premises were located in the south of the Western University campus, expanded continuously. For CCM include the Corbett Auditorium with 750 seats, the Patricia Corbett Theater ( 400 seats) and a series of stages ( Cohen Family Studio Theater, Robert J. Werner Recital Hall, Watson Recital Hall ).

Importance

With its currently 1500 students and 150 professors and lecturers, the CCM is the largest music college in the U.S. state of Ohio. University rankings (including " U.S. News world report" ), there are some of the best American music academies. Particularly outstanding departments are conducting and the singing class for years. Many influential personalities of the international music scene are graduates of the CCM and confirm the excellent reputation of the Institute.
