National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China

The State Statistical Office of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国 国家 统计局chinese /中华人民共和国 国家 统计局, Pinyin Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó guojia Tǒngjìjú, English National Bureau of Statistics of China ) is headquartered in Beijing and reports directly to the State Council of the people's Republic of China.

It is responsible for the detection and evaluation, inter alia, all the economic indicators. Among his duties is to develop laws, regulations and guidelines with respect to the statistical collection of data in order to provide the foundations for the development of the country. It is also encouraged to monitor compliance with the relevant laws by other government agencies.

In order to fulfill these tasks, it is divided into twelve departments.

Current Director is the 1954 born Xie Fuzhan. This is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and also a member of the Discipline Inspection Commission.
