National Committee for a Free Europe

The National Committee for a Free Europe (English National Committee for a Free Europe) was an American anti- communist organization that was founded in 1949 in New York City. Its members are composed of different nationalities, the line consisted of Charles Douglas Jackson, John Jay McCloy and Allen Dulles Welsh.

The goal was the liberation of the under - Stalinist Soviet influence after the Second World War, the peoples of Europe.

The committee gave the inhabitants of Berlin as a symbol of freedom, the Liberty Bell, which hangs since 1950 in the Rathaus Schöneberg. It was created by her example, the American Liberty Bell. In the same year, the committee established under Jackson Radio Free Europe.
