National Resistance Movement

The National Resistance Movement ( NRM National Resistance Movement) is a political organization in Uganda. It is led by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, and is the most important political movement in the country. It was created as political side organization of the National Resistance Army and formed the government when Museveni came to power in 1986. In 1995, the political system in Uganda was reorganized and the Movement was officially established as the most important non-partisan grassroots organization of the Ugandan people. 2003 but this was canceled in favor of a more liberal multi-party system.
