National Soaring Museum

The National Soaring Museum ( NSM) is an aviation museum in Elmira, New York, USA, that has been dedicated to the history of gliding.

History

The museum was founded in 1969 on the Harris Hill in Elmira. The selection of the site was its proximity to the Schweizer Aircraft Corporation and its importance to the American sport of soaring. From 1930 to 1946 here 13 national gliding competitions were held.
