National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS ) is one of six academic institutions that belong to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ( NOAA) of the United States of America. The NWS was done formerly known as the Weather Bureau. His duties are to provide hydrological information to deliver weather and climate forecasts and warnings for the territory of the United States and its surrounding waters and oceans surrendered, to protect life and property of the people and for the benefit of the national economy. This is done through a series of national and regional centers and 122 local offices by the weather forecast ( weather forecast offices, WFOs ). Since the NWS is a government agency of the federal government, the majority of its products has the copyright status of works of U.S. Government (public domain ).
