Natitingou

Department

Natitingou is the capital of the department Atakora in Benin. It has about 35,000 inhabitants and is situated in the northwest of Benin at the foot of Atakora chain.

Natitingou has a large central market, a museum, two hospitals, a cinema and an airfield. The Tata Somba said residential castles in the region are known. East of the city are the Kota Falls, south of the Botanical Garden of Papatia.

The city is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Natitingou.

Twinning

The cities of Huy in Wallonia (Belgium) and Rillieux- la -Pape in the Rhône department (France) are twin cities of Natitingou.
