Natsuo Yamaguchi

Natsuo Yamaguchi (Japanese山口 那 津 男, Natsuo Yamaguchi, born July 12, 1952 in Nakaminato (now Hitachinaka ), Ibaraki Prefecture) is a Japanese politician, party leader and member of the Kōmeitō Sangiin for Tokyo Prefecture.

Yamaguchi studied law at the University of Tokyo and, after passing the bar exam in 1979 and the conclusion of the clerkship in 1982 a member of the Tokyo Bar Association. From 1988 he was in the Nihon Bengoshi Rengokai, the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, active.

The change in policy occurred Yamaguchi in 1990 Shūgiin - choice when he ran for the Kōmeitō in the old fünfmandatigen 10th electoral district of Tokyo prefecture and was selected with the third highest share of the vote. He was confirmed in office sovereign 1993. Like the majority of Kōmeitō members he joined after the failure of anti - LDP coalition in 1994 at the New Progressive Party ( NFP ). But as the candidate of the NFP in 1996 he lost the new single constituency Tokyo 17 at Katsuei Hirasawa (LDP ) and also failed on the second attempt, again for the ("new " ) Kōmeitō, at the 2000 Shūgiin choice.

Yamaguchi then tried in the Sangiin - election 2001 one of the four seats of Tokyo Prefecture to recover for the Kōmeitō; in standing for election was the Kōmeitō half since 1995, when the party part of the NFP was not represented. He received over 800 thousand votes, and went with the second highest share of the vote in a Sangiin. 2007 and 2013, he was re- elected for another six years.

2008 Yamaguchi rose to the Kōmeitō - leadership when he took over the chairmanship of the policy research council. As the party leader Akihiro Ōta after Kōmeitō defeat at the 2009 election Shūgiin resigned, Yamaguchi OTAs took over succession. He wants the Kōmeitō, the first time is after almost a decade coalition with the LDP again in opposition, leading to a stand-alone course, even if they continue to cooperate with each election with the LDP, and includes a coalition with the now ruling Democratic Party despite some common concerns like the prefectural and municipal voting rights for foreigners.
