Nausicaa

Nausicaa (Greek Ναυσικάα ) In Greek mythology, the daughter of King Alkinoos phaiakischen and his wife Arete.

Myth

Nausicaa washed with another girl on the beach the laundry; then they eat and begin to play. In this scene suddenly a castaway, before the other girls fear appears. Nausicaa but is not afraid. She gives him food and clothing. Then Nausicaa takes him to his father's farm, where he reveals his identity during the banquet as Odysseus and gives a report of his wanderings. Poetically Homer uses these events also, subtly portray the burgeoning love of a young girl. Later, Odysseus ' son Telemachus is making according to some traditions a trip to the Phaeacians and falls in love with Nausicaa. Both have a son who is guided in some sources as Persepolis, other than Ptoliporthos.
