Navarrese Company

The Navarrese Company ( Compañía navarre ) was a mercenary force that was recruited mainly from Navarre and Gascony.

The company was first used by King Charles II of Navarre in the war against France and lost the peace agreement in 1366 their livelihood. The mercenaries were inspired by Louis of Navarre, the brother of Charles II, recruit, who had significantly grow through recruitment of Navarre the troupe 1372-1375 and finally started in the battle for the Duchy of Durazzo. In the summer of 1376 the troops indeed succeeded in conquering the city of Durazzo, but this success was Ludwig no longer use because he died shortly after. After some turmoil to 1396 Pedro Bordo de San Superano († 1402), the captain of the Navarrese Company sat through as the new prince of Achaia.
