Naves (Llanes)

Naves is one of 28 parroquias in the municipality of Llanes of the autonomous community of Asturias in Spain.

Geography

Naves is a Parroquia with 178 inhabitants ( 2011) and an area of 6.99 km ². It is 31 meters above sea level. The Llanu Santana is 211 m, the highest point of the Parroquia.

Waters in the Parroquia

The Parroquia is just a few 100 meters from the Cantabrian Sea. The beaches of San Antolin and Gulpiyuri are typical for the whole Asturias.

Nearest airports are Oviedo and Santander. The feve has several stops in the Parroquia.

The San Antolin Church is a station on the Camino de Santiago Camino de la Costa.

Economy

Fishing and agriculture characterizes the region since ancient times. Through the mountains and the nearby sea, the region has become a tourist destination, which promotes the economy significantly.

Climate

Pleasantly mild summers with mild also, rarely severe winters. In the highlands of the winters can be quite severe.
