Nazım Ekren

Nazim Ekren ( born December 4, 1956 in İstanbul ) is a Turkish politician of the ACP.

Life

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics itia in Bursa. His doctoral thesis was on the International Banking at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Uludağ. The lecturer titles for economic theory and the Professor title for Applied Economic Ekren received at Marmara University. He worked in the administration of the same university. Ekren has teaching at Marmara University, as well as other state and foundation universities.

Nazim Ekren 2001 was a founding member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP) and deputy for the province of İstanbul in the 22nd legislative period (October 14, 2002 - July 22, 2007 ) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

As of August 29 2007 was a member of the Ekren II Erdoğan Cabinet of the AKP government under Erdogan as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State. He was responsible for the general coordination on economic issues and the Administrative Court ( Danıştay ). He oversaw the State Secretariat of the Customs, the Directorate General of Foundations, the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Solidarity and the Secretariat of the Committee of the advertising fund.

Nazim Ekren managed:

  • The Bureau of the Turkish Statistical Institute ( TÜİK )
  • The Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP )

Nazim Ekren was responsible for relations with

  • The General Directorate of State Ziraat Bank ( TC Ziraat Bankası )
  • The General Directorate of State Turkish People Bank (Türkiye Halk Bankası A.Ş. )
  • The Turkish General Directorate of State upswing Bank (Türkiye Bankası A.Ş. Kalkınma )
  • The Committee on the capital market ( SPK)
  • The Office of regulation and supervision of the banking system ( BDDK )
  • The insurance fund for savings deposits ( TMSF )

Nazim Ekren left the government in the Cabinet revision in May 2009.
