The Nea (Swedish Nean ) is a 80 km long river that flows from the Swedish border to the west and by Tydal Selbu in Fylke Sør-Trøndelag. It has its origins east of the situated in Sweden reservoir Sylsjøen, then flows through the two reservoirs Nesjøen and Vessingsjøen before it receives the tributary Tya in Tydal. It follows the Tydalen and takes 15 km before its confluence with the Selbusjøen the Rotla on. The continuation of the Nea, that is, the outflow from the Selbusjøen, then forms the Nidelva. Thus, the Nea represents the upper part of the Nea - Nidelv River system
The Nea is a very popular river for fishing. Fish from 1.5 to 2 kg standard, but there are also examples of 5-6 kilograms.
