Neferronpet

Neferrenpet was an Egyptian vizier of the 19th Dynasty ( New Kingdom ). His office area was Upper Egypt. He officiated at the end of the reign of Ramses II, and perhaps at the beginning of Seti II

Origin and family

Neferrenpet was the son of the father of the same name, whose former position is unknown. He is only ever referred to as " Sab ". His mother was probably of foreign origin and was called Qafiriatji. Neferrenpet himself was married to Tapipu. Five children are known by name; the daughters Taweretchati, Iniuhi, Henutmet, Res and the son Bakenptah.

Importance

Neferrenpet was one of the most important official under Ramses II and announced on the 57th and 60th year of the reign of Ramses II whose 10th and 11th sed festival. He also held the office of High Priest of Ptah at Memphis. In this role he is called in a well- fictional genealogy of the 22nd Dynasty.

Documents

Neferrenpet is known by numerous monuments. There are various statues and stelae. In addition, there is a copy of a letter to him to receive, which shows that he was the highest authority for the workers of Deir el- Medina. His grave was not as expected in Thebes, but was excavated in the Memphite necropolis of Saqqara. The location of his tomb at Memphis is certainly the function of Neferrenpet as High Priest of Ptah in conjunction.
