The Neff GmbH ( in northern Baden) founded in 1877 by Carl Andreas Neff in Bretten and is a manufacturer of built-in household appliances.

At the production site Bretten Neff employed in the local 105,000 m² main plant nearly 1,300 employees design, produce annually about 1.4 million units. The company's sales, marketing and design are coordinated at the location in Munich. Neff is distributed internationally in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Russia and Israel.

Since 1982, the Neff GmbH, a 100 % owned subsidiary of BSH Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances (also BSH Group called ).

History

In 1877, master locksmith Carl Andreas Neff founded the company in the homestead of the former Zähringerplatz court with six companions as a workshop. Charcoal stoves and later Bakery and coal ovens were produced under the name " Carl Neff oven and stove factory". 1910 employed the production facility already operating 40 members, in 1931 there were 100 employees now. After the Second World War, 60 % of the work had been destroyed, a new start was made initially with seven employees. 1950 has already started with the construction of a second plant in the Ruiter Valley ( Bretten ). 1953 built the plant in Bruchsal with 300 employees installations of catering kitchens. 1961 Neff Europe's largest electric cooker manufacturer and employed at that time, approximately 2,500 people at four plant locations: two in Bretten and one plant each in Bruchsal, Rinklingen and Ittlingen ( foundries ). 1964 found in almost 50 countries around the world Neff products their customers. Neff was already the largest manufacturer of electric power, coal and oil stoves in Germany - increasingly also in Europe. 1967 Neff celebrated 90th anniversary with nearly 4,400 employees, which produced about 500,000 units a year.

In 1969, that only two years later, Neff was on the verge of bankruptcy: one had taken with the purchase of rival company Junker & Ruh. Neff was a subsidiary of AEG, and 1972, drew a new upswing from: A new press shop and a high-bay warehouse were completed, the stove production was further increased. 1981, a new painting and phosphating plant was put into operation.

On 17 August 1982, the Carl Neff GmbH had to file as a subsidiary of AEG liquidation comparison. The state government of Baden- Württemberg granted the company 10 million DM available to allow a resumption of production. On 1 October 1982, the company went into bankruptcy the connection after the minimum comparison rate of 35% could not be met. After that, the Bosch -Siemens Home Appliances Group took over, today BSH Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group, the Neff brand and founded the Neff GmbH, Munich. The factory sites have been added to the plant in Bretten. 1986/87 started the Flachschirmhaube production, an electrostatic powder Tauchemaillierung and conditioning were installed. 1992 Neff group work was introduced in the oven assembly. In 1993, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a two-story assembly hall, on 25 June, the ten millionth Neff cooker was produced. 1997 Neff went into the food manufacturing, 1999, the range hood factory was expanded again. The capacity of the extractor hood manufacturing was last increased in 2005.

Neff provides built-in appliances forth for the household, and include: built-in electric ovens, electric hobs, built-in electric ovens, gas hobs, combi built-in cookers, microwaves, extractors, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers and laundry care.
