Nelaton's line

The Roser - Nélaton line is an imaginary line to determine the position of the greater trochanter (Great trochanter ) of the femur (femur) in the basin.

The line runs from the anterior superior iliac spine of the ilium to ischial tuberosity of the ischium. Flexed at 45 ° thigh the top of the Trochantor is usually major in the middle of this line. In a dislocation of the hip or femoral neck fracture one scans the Trochantor major outside this line.

The Roser - Nélaton line is named after the German surgeon Wilhelm Roser and the French surgeon Auguste Nélaton.
