Nelly Kaplan

Nelly Kaplan (* 1936 in Buenos Aires ( Argentina) ) is an Argentine- French film director.

Life

Nelly Kaplan was born as the daughter of an opera singer in Buenos Aires. With 18 years Nelly came to Paris, where she met André Breton and his last lover was. When Abel Gance she learned the film craft. This was followed by films about art, such as Rodolphe Bresdin and " Le regard Picasso " Pablo Picasso. Her first feature film " La fiancee du pirate" with Bernadette Lafont and Michel Bouquet, for which she received the "Golden Lion" in Venice, came in 1969 in the cinemas. After that followed by other feature films such as " Papa le pedit bateaux " with Michael Lonsdale, inter alia, " Nea " a co-production. Today, it is with Agnès Varda to the film classics of feminist women's films.
