Nelly Miricioiu

Nelly Miricioiu ( born March 31, 1952 in Adjud ) is a Romanian opera singer (soprano ).

Biography

She debuted in 1970 as Queen of the Night in the opera " The Magic Flute " by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Bucharest. She then joined the ensemble of the opera in Braşov. 1981 she moved to London. She sang with Scottish Opera and the 1982 Edinburgh Festival. In 1982, she was also known as Nedda in " Pagliacci " by Ruggero Leoncavallo her debut at the Royal Opera House in London. She performed at the Paris Opera, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, at the Arena of Verona, in San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia, Madrid, Rome, Montpellier, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and at the Staatsoper Berlin and Australia.
