Neolecta

Neolecta irregularis

Neolecta is a systematic legal standing isolated genus of Ascomycota, which alone forms the class Neolectomycetes. The species are Saprobionten in humid forests.

Features

Neolecta forms a multinucleate mycelium. The Askokarp is designed as apothecium, which is stalked and fleshy. A tissue between the asci is not formed. The cylindrical asci are formed directly from binuclear cells consecutively undergoing karyogamy, meiosis, and a further mitotic division, making eight ascospores arise.

An anamorphic shape is not known.

System

The genus forms a separate class within the Taphrinomycotina.

There are at least four ways:

  • Neolecta aurantiaca
  • Neolecta flavovirescens
  • Neolecta irregularis
  • Neolecta vitellina
